GOOGLE: “Website Responsively” or Else

google-is-evilFor some time now, SMS reps have been reaching out to their clients in an attempt to motivate them to make their websites responsive, or coded to respond to any of the myriad devices that prospects and visitors use to access websites these days.

Fortunately, many are doing just that (Good show!), and we hope more follow suit soon because it will make a significant difference to how your company’s website is found – or if it’s found at all.

It seems that on April 21st the world’s most popular search engine will ostensibly “punish” all websites that don’t look good on a mobile device by introducing a search algorithm that favors responsive sites over those who prefer to live in the past.

PRESS RELEASES: The Little (but Still Great) Equalizer

small-businessBudgets, by nature, limit marketing initiatives. In austere economic climates, efforts to promote one’s products and services are often set aside when growth is still possible. When business picks up, it can be difficult to reinvigorate past ideas that continue to bear the mark of unnecessary expenditure. As a result, larger companies with greater positive working capital gain an even stronger foothold in their respective industries.

That is why business marketers can never ignore press releases. These low cost marketing tools allow small and mid-sized companies to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with larger competitors. When written well and distributed often and effectively, they can even push companies with tighter budgets in front, especially with the help of Internet search engines. Simply put, one should never ignore an aggressive press release program because they are exceedingly affordable. They are the first tools that every marketer, large or small, should have in their toolbox.

Are there other affordable tools that work as well? Indeed. The concept of Content Marketing is a close relative which involves sharing a wide variety of media with a number of different types of publishers in order to acquire and retain customers. Short videos, for example, can be spread throughout social media and in other online publications. Sometimes they can even go viral, giving a jolt to your company’s visibility and paying for themselves many times over.

There are many low-cost methods of advertising one’s products and services, and choosing which ones are right for your company requires an in-depth understanding of one’s customers, markets and industries. But make no mistake, press releases are for everyone, everywhere, every time.

Pressed For Time

Prose-Icon-(Press-Release)It’s hard to believe it’s now October – where do the days go? Obviously, we can’t do anything about time flying with regard to our lives but that is not always true in choosing how we market our products and services.

As you know, the internet has brought new opportunities and capabilities for marketing and selling into a variety of markets, both domestic and international. But we should not forget about or discount a very reasonably priced marketing tool that may seem old, but is still effective in print and online for marketing old as well as new products – the PRESS RELEASE.

Press releases are still highly effective tools that can breath new life into older products as well as introduce new products to emerging or established markets. They are the ideal vehicle for getting information on your established products to prospects that are new to the market.

What you might not know is that if a product has not been the subject of a press release for a period of 6 months, most magazines consider it to be newsworthy and it qualifies to again be sent out as a New Product Release. That makes the release a low-cost tool to spotlight important, mature products that have the potential to be purchased on an ongoing basis. New people move into your markets all the time, and they need to be made aware of both NEW and OLDER established products that can significantly impact your bottom line.

What you also might not know is that once the release is picked up in print or, in the case of an online publication only, it remains in the publication’s online Products and Services area with a 4/C photo for up to a full year or longer at no additional cost to you – making the release work even harder for your initial outlay.
